Buffalo —Buffalo Police have arrested a suspect in the New Years day stabbing in the Buffalo gay entertainment district.

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III told Outcome today that Suzanne Grover was arrested Wednesday evening and arraigned on Thursday. Grover was charges with committing a hate crime and also with assault in the second degree.

Lindsay Harmon, 29, was assaulted in the early hours of New Years Day outside of Roxy's Nightclub on Main Street in Buffalo. Harmon was stabbed in her right eye, cheek and arm.

Witnesses and police have previously indicated that the altercation began when a party of two women and four men began calling the women anti-gay epitaphs as they passed by Roxy's.

When asked if Grover had confessed to the attack, Sedita refused to characterize it as a confession. Sedita also would not comment at this time if Grover came forward or was apprehended by police.

Sedita further indicated that witnesses included witnesses from the the groups of people present both in and outside the bar that evening.

"There are lots of conflicting accounts."
