Each year members of the Buffalo Bear Club and the Imperial Court of Buffalo get together to clean up and re-plant Buffalo's Life Memorial Park. The Park serves as the gay communities lasting tribute to those who have lived with and have dies from the Aids epidemic.
Life Memorial Park was founded in 1993 by members of Buffalo's glbt community. The park is a lasting reminder and memorial to all the people who died, as well as a reminder to the community at large of the thousands of men and women who live with hiv each day.
The Bear Club and the ICOB have worked together to maintain the park and this past spring raised money to purchase plants and other garden supplies. The red ribbon sidewalk was repainted this year.
The park also flies the flags of our community. The American flag has been joined by the rainbow pride flag, the bear flag and the aids awareness flag.
