Buffalo Pride Parade Route Change

BUFFALO— Due to Kleinhans Music Hall having a previously scheduled event at their facility, the Pride Parade will not line up at Kleinhans Music Hall as in previous years. The Pride-Buffalo web site states that the new route will start at Main Street and Dodge Street.

The 2009 Buffalo's gay pride parade will line up in the parking lot behind Belmont Shelter's office building, 1195 Main Street at Dodge. Belmont Shelter is located just north of Summer Street, on the east side of Main Street.

The parade will line-up at 11:00 a.m. and will step off at 1:00 p.m.

The parade will exit the Belmont Shelter lot on Dodge and turn south on Main Street. Turn west on Summer Street and proceed westward towards Elmwood Avenue. The parade will turn north on Elwood Avenue and proceed north until the parade reached Bidwell Parkway. The parade ends at Bidwell Parkway where parade organizers will have their entertainment stage, vendor and community information area as well as a cash bar tent.

Bidwell Parkway will be closed to traffic on Sunday, June 7 from Elmwood Avenue to Soldier Place. Parking for pride events in this area is limited to street parking and may be difficult. Bikes, skateboard, walking, car pool or public transportation is recommended.
