New York State Senate Adjourns Takes No Action On Marriage Equality

ALBANY, NY— Democrats in the New York Senate today gaveled to open day two of the extraordinary session called by Governor David Paterson. The 30 Republican Senators along with Democratic Senator Pedro Espada did not attend the session in the Senate Chamber.

The Democrats raised the point of order that the laws that were passed in yesterdays session would become law without the Assembly also being called into extraordinary session. The Senate adjourned without taking any action on any of the bills on the Governors agenda.

There was no action taken on Same-Sex marriage legislation. —Tim Moran
