BUFFALO— The Buffalo News in an June 7 article by Tom Precious, writes about New York State Senator William Stachowski's opposition to Marriage Equality in New York State.
The article makes clear that Stachowski is under immense pressure from religious activists in Western New York, lead by Catholic Bishop Edward Kiemiec and conservative party chairman attorney Ralph Lorrigo.
The article assumes that Stachowski's district would be against same-sex marriage citing the fact that the district includes the suburban and rural towns in southern Erie County.
Unfortunately the article does leave out the fact that Stachowski also represents part of the largest gay and lesbian neighborhoods in New York State, Allentown and the lower West Side.
The News article states that constituent calls to Stachowski's office have been mainly in opposition to Marriage Equality. Stackowski's office can be reached at:
